The complete tour: four unforgettable stops
During our boat excursion, you will visit:
- Santa Maria: a stop at the beach in the beautiful bay;
- Budelli Island: a stop for plunging in the famous natural pools (Porto della Madonna);
- Spargi: swimming and relaxing in Cala Granara or Cala Ferrigno;
- La Maddalena: free time for a stroll in the old town amidst shops and picturesque views.
Each stop is planned to give you the right amount of time to immerse yourself in nature, relax or take memorable photos
1st Stop - Island of Santa Maria
Stop at the beach - about 1 hour
The first stop on the boat trip is the island of Santa Maria, one of the most fascinating in the archipelago. Here we land directly on the beach for a long break.
You can relax on the soft white sand, swim in the shallow, transparent waters, or take a short walk to the ancient Benedictine monastery, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. This is an ideal place for families with children, nature lovers and photographers.
2nd Stop - Budelli Island and the Natural Pools
Bathing from the boat - about 30 minutes
Continuing our tour, we will reach the famed lagoon of Porto della Madonna, also known as Piscine Naturali di Budelli.
Here, the water takes on incredible hues between turquoise and emerald, creating a vast natural pool between the islands of Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria.
During the stop, you can dive directly from the boat or stay on board and enjoy the stunning view. This area is protected by the Park Authority, so only stopping at sea is allowed to fully protect this delicate environment.
3rd Stop - Spargi Island (Cala Granara or Cala Ferrigno)
Stop at the beach - about 1 hour
The third leg of the boat trip takes us to the island of Spargi, famous for its picture-postcard bays. We will land at one of the two main beaches: Cala Granara, with white sand and ideal seabed for snorkelling, or Cala Ferrigno, more secluded and quieter.
During your stopover, you can relax in the sun, swim or explore the island's nature trails, amongst military forts, junipers and wind-sculpted granite rocks.
While sailing, we will also pass some peculiar rock formations, such as the Witch's Head, the Bulldog and Miniature Italy, true natural symbols of the island.
4th Stop - Old town of La Maddalena
Stop on land - approx. 1 hour
The last stop of the day is on the main island of the archipelago: La Maddalena.
Here you can go ashore and wander freely through the picturesque old town, past craft shops, waterfront cafés, historic squares and period buildings.
We recommend a visit to Piazza Umberto I (Comando), with the Admiralty Palace - a historic venue for the Italian President’s holidays - and the nearby Via Garibaldi, perfect for local craft shopping or a delicious ice cream.
